Coming off of a 2007 ultra classic to the 2014 limited, is anyone annoyed with the gas tank filler hole?
This design is a pain in the **s when it comes to filling up to the top of the tank.
Anyone have any creative fixes?

 

To think I thought it was just me!!!!

 

I've noticed there is a lot of splash back if the flow is to fast. I just slow the flow rate. IMHO!

Only thing that narks me about the gas tank is that when it's raining the water runs down to my n***s!!

Yeah it's a little annoying. I sorta rock the bike side to side as I'm filling so it burps. Probably gets me another 1/2 gallon in there before it will start to catch and spit.

 

I do that too but it sure looks stupid when there are people around. Especially when there is a line of other people who need gas.

 

Keep the music on and tap your floorboord to the beat with your foot, that's enough to shake the tank. Looking cool isn't an accident, lol.

 

I have the same problem with gas spitting out the fill. I think the cover should open from the top not the bottom. It seems like your fighting the door to get the nozzle into the tank, because it gets in the way.

 

You have to drill out the filler neck. I've done it on my last two bikes.
