Recently bought a 2015 Streetglide without the security system but had one installed this past weekend. The system seems to work correctly but I now have no brake lights and as soon as I touch the front brake lever or the rear brake peddle the security light comes on and stays on. Everything worked before the system was installed so it has to be the security system that's causing the problem. I have an appoint this coming week to have the dealer take a look at it so just curious if anyone else has had this problem and what fixed it.

 

Mine works fine.

If you don't have brake lights, I would consider not riding the bike until they are fixed. Perhaps the dealer should come and get it.

 

I had a similar sounding problem with my SG and it wound up being a fuse. I'm probably wrong but sounds similar.

 

I cannot say for sure what your problem is. What I can say is that the same thing happened to me with 2014 Dyna.

Intermittent security light (little red circle) would come on/off and eventually stayed on. No brake lights or lights when running bike, blinkers worked fine. Apparently my issue was a bulb, we shall see.

Btw..I DO NOT have a security system on the bike.

 

My understanding is that if the security light stays on, there is an electrical fault somewhere.


This was verified to me when I was upgrading the P&A harness and inadvertently reconnected my GDO power to the wrong wire on the harness. Security light stayed on, and GDO didn't work. As soon as I resolved it, the security light didn't stay on anymore.

 

So I'm in the exact same boat with my 2015 Roadglide, I can't believe the dealer wouldn't check this out before releasing the bike to me, the security light was on when I picked it up, but didn't know any better because I just had this installed.
