When I installed my XM radio module I put the antenna on the above the radio, to the side, all over the place and connection was sorry. Couldn't be near a tree, building or any sort of overhead object or signal would cut out. So I added some double-sided tape to the the bottom of the antenna and stuck it at the highest point away from metal, near plastic and perfect. Never lose signal anymore no matter where I am at. After 12,250 miles I've been quite a few places and not once have I lost signal.

Fortunately I have my outer fairing off while I do some extensive work on my '14 SGS so I have a pic for your review. The red arrow shows where I placed it.

I may have to try this. After a couple of hours riding around the Black Hills today, my radio cut out more times than I could count.
