Default Outer fairing removal for sirius install

Got a new Ultra Limited my wife bought me the sirius module for my birthday looks pretty easy to install but before I start the install are there any tricks for removing the outer fairing? Looks like a few screws by the windshield and 2 screws on each side on the back and also remove the headlight ring?

No need to remove headlight ring. Put a towel on your front fender to be safe, and guys also put socks over their passing/driving lamps to prevent any scratches. Pull the 4 screws on the back (2 on each side) then pull 2 outside screws of the windshield. Now the 1 middle screw is the only thing holding the outer faring. loosen the middle screw and pull out the windshield, then cradle the fairing with 1 hand and remove the screw. Once you pull the fairing back a few inches reach inside and unplug the headlight and its off!

Add a weather strip to the windshield before you pout it back on to keep water out of the faring. I used Mastic tape, then bough some rubber weather stripping. There are two large gaps between the screws. I did not like them and I don't let Harley Wash my bike after servicing because of them.

I'll add that if you've taken fairings off previous bikies, it's much easier these days.

Harley did a great job removing the two evil screws that are on the bottom on the earlier models. Those two were always a real PITA to remove and reinstall. This outer fairling is much easier to work with. Just took mine off yesterday for the 4th time.

Yep, it's that easy. I used the tube sock technique as well. I installed internal antenna's and it was a breeze.

You might want to consider mounting the Sirius antenna on the dash instead of inside the fairing? Changed mine and it improved the reception.
