Default '07 RK:wasn't lifter noise, broken shoe instead

I bought the RK in Oct. It had a slight lifter noise (I thought). Noise steadily got worse, so I checked out the Forum. Harley C lifters and SE lifters seem to be known problems. I didn't know what brand were used during the 103 install 14K ago. I put in the VThunder lifters. No help in noise. A mechanic friend told me to check the compensator which is another known problem that I didn't know about because I'm relatively new at this twin cam thing. I was surprised when I pulled off the primary cover and found a broken tensioner shoe. Shoe was adjusted all the way to the front and the mounting bolts were loose. I could unscrew the back one with my fingers. Is there anything else I should look at while I'm replacing the shoe?

You should look at the reason why it broke. The automatic tensioner ratcheted all the way up and snap. Good thing it was just a shoe and not a crank bearing or a transmission mainshaft. Get rid of the stock auto tensioner before it does some real damage.
