Winding noise

I have a stock 1996 Road King with 21,000 miles on it. My bike is making a load winding noise. It sounds the same as when it is in gear and when it is in neutral. Not sure what it is. All oilshave been changedand oil levels are correct. Chainand clutch areadjusted properly. Cannot tell where it is coming from. Bike operates like normal. Does any know what this noise could be.

If you mean a whining noise, then I would suspect the primary chain is too tight. It should have between 3/8" and 5/8" of slack in it.

Sounds more like a Cam bearing to me.With the engine running, take a large screwdriver, place the handle end into your ear and the tip on the cam nose cone. It works like a doctors stethoscope.If its the cam bearing, you should be able to hear the whine through the screwdriver. good luck
