How much hp/tq can a stock trans handle?

I have the full SE clutch currently...
I'm dropping in a S&S 124" next week... Switching to full evolution set up, clutch, chain, comp. sprockets, the whole deal. Hole shots and burnouts bangin through the gears will always happen on my bikes...
Should be around 160 hp when I'm finished, just wondering if anyone has any real experience with the stock trany takin a dump!?!?

I have a 2007 RK with an S&S 124 with 585 EZ start cams mounted on it with no problems at this time. I am running a Primo Rivera Pro Clutch with the heavy springs. I just recently had to change out a 2013 SE Comp for the 2014 version. I am running 126 HP and 146 torque. I have not done any burnouts or any launches so you may need a different set up.
I did got to a 1.6kw Compu Start starter and Briell 575 CCA battery.
Good luck with you build

For the type of power your planning on with your build and what your plans are with riding it. You should consult Frank Drago @ Dragos Bike Works. He build big power engines with forced induction on HD engines and has the parts and expertise you will need to have less of a chance of a chain break vs a belt breaking.
The transmission will need a thorough inspection and a billet trap door before the engine is installed. Clutch assembly should be billet as well. As mentioned Rivera, Bandit is another.
Good luck on your build.

I know a Dyna rider who had a tuned S&S124 giving over 160HP on the stock trans. We have owners with 120R and 124 engines doing the same (using a stock trans!). If you are riding on the street I wouldn't be too concerned about the trans. Also with a big engine you will not need yet more gears! A DD6 will be fine IMHO, if you feel the need to change.
