Default 2006 FLSTFSE2 primary chain shoe issues???

I have a 2006 CVO Fat Boy that I have replaced 4 primary shoes already and replaced crank 2500 miles ago. I looked in the primary and found that another shoe has disintegrated. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks

How much free play are you tightening the chain to?

There you go, you want 5/8 to 7/8 cold in the tightest spot.

Even on a touring bike? I know some are different.

Even on a touring. At least 5/8 none of these clutch basket are concentric and if you don't have at least that much at some point through the chain cycle it will get to a point of zero free play, which you know is never good.

I had to set mine at more than that. Even though the Baker has a fine adjustment it was 3/8 or 7/8 and yes I checked it at multiple spots. Going to pull the primary in a month or two to check again.

Gottcha, well I guess sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Now where did I leave that perfect world.
