Default Pre-2006 Auto Primary chain adjuster?

Anybody with a pre- 2006 run an automatic primary chain adjuster? I need to put a new primary chain on at 27,000 miles.. thought I might put an adjuster in there too.

What kind if you do run one? Does it work ok?

I swear by them! Added the Harley Auto Adjuster to both my bikes. Smooth shifting and never have to adjust the primary chain again. Follow the instructions. It's important to properly position the adjuster prior to releasing the spring. Save the metal spring locking tool. You'll need it if you have to do any future work in the primary.

Hayden here. I think the earlier models (pre '07,) work best with the M-6. I've got over 142,000 on mine...original everything still in the chain case too (though I did replace the compensator spring pack at 120,000 as preventative maintenance.)

I agree with Stiggy. Go with the Haden M6. I bought the HD tensioner and it ratcheted up too tight. I ended up reinstalling the stock tensioner and kept an eye on the adjustment. After 15-20000 miles the chain will stretch very little. I have over 80K on my 06 Heritage and the chain is still in very good condition.
