Hey there,
I bought new tires for my '72 FLH and I'm hopefully getting them mounted sometime in the next week or so. Already picked out inner tubes, but I'm wondering, what width rim strips I should get? Thanks, -Danny
They are usually measured by rim diameter. So 16 inch wheels, 16 inch rim strip. It needs to cover the spoke area. Be sure to clean out the rust or you will be wasting your time and tubes.

Yup put a wire wire wheel on the old drill and get busy, rim strip won't help against rust.

Rims are powder coated with cad spokes, so might not have to worry about too much rust, but we'll see. the rim strips I was looking at also had width measurements. Seems like average was 1.25" or 1.5", though I saw some with 2.25... so should I not worry about width? Just any 16" rim strip?
