Default Rear bag guards

I was going to put some lindby bars on back but I have to lose my running boards that I don't want to do. My next option is rear bag guards, will I have to lose my rear running boards if I go with a bag Guards on it? Pictures are always great.

Tony, I put on the Heritage Springer bag guards on my bike a couple weeks ago. The lower part mounts on the inside of the frame where the rear floor board goes. I ride solo but see no problems with rear floor boards. You would need to get longer foot mount bolts. The guard is not threaded but needs a nut on the foot mount bolt to secure the guard.

Tony,

As knees mentioned. with HD saddlebag guards, you do not need to lose your passenger footboards. Here is a picture with the saddlebag guard AND the passenger footboard, toolbox and true dual Samson.

If I recall correctly, you have commented in the past that you rarely if ever ride with saddlebags. So, why saddlebag guards?

Thanks guys, that helped a lot. Why bone doc? Some might call this crazy, insane, dumb, blah, blah, blah and I'm going on a 4 state ride with some serious canyon carving, in fact I bet my nephew 1K that I will eat his *** in those canyons. Should $hit happen I want to keep that bike off of me. Also, I think that add to that "nostalgic look too!

Depending on your bags these are the Heritage Springer bag guards.

I think they are better looking than the Deluxe bag guards.

I agree and thanks knees.

EDIT: I already have 4" rear floor board extended mounts so I should be good.

I put the bag guards on my Heritage this winter. Did not effect anything with the foot boards. Also, I out them on myself. Since my mechanical skills are exceptionally limited, this meant that the skills needed are pretty limited.

The Springer bag guard link I posted will fit your year of Deluxe no matter what the website says.

The Springer bag guard is also seen often on "Cholo" style Deluxes without saddle bags. After you get back from your 4 state ride you might like the look enough to leave them on full time without the bags.

What States are you riding through?

I plan on leaving them on. I think it adds to the Nostalgia and the cholo look. Our ride is starting out in Colorado headed south down into Utah, then up through Wyoming finishing up at Sturgis In SD.

I really have no concern about scratching my bike in this canyon run. My nephew, who I taught 30 years ago how to ride. His ride is get on the highway and go straight for 200 miles. I spent my 1st 3 yeasr in motocross, last 3 years oval flat track, started when I was 10. To keep him safe, even though he doesn't know this, its a timed run, not side by side because if he tries to keep up with me he will go down. So he will go 1st so that he doesn't try to beat my time if I go 1st. When I spank him I'm gonna stick his 1K i took from him back in his shirt pocket!

He's my nephew and my brother.
