Alternate speedometer/tach
Thank to the generosity of forum members I was able to get a replacement stock speedometer/odometer. The odometer mileage does not replicate but I can document the change for any future sale situation.
The bike, 2004 Night Train, has a small tachometer on the handlebars. I find that location much easier to glance at than the gauge on the "dash" of the gas tank. A dash speedometer wasn't a problem on my 2001 Road King and this one might not be after I replace the drag bars but I'm thinking about options.
Has anyone successfully used the Sportster gauge on the handlebars of a Softail? ie http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...10-70900274--1
That gauge is bigger than the tachometer I current have but smaller than the stock in the dash.
Maybe the Sportster gauge would work with a wiring harness adapter or splicing wires?
