12.5" Buffalo Apes Installed - no riser ground
I picked up my fxst with new 12.5" apes and 1.5" risers and really like the new ride. I had braided cables and chrome switches installed also. It gives the bike a whole new look.
When I got it home I noticed that the riser ground wire was missing. I went back to the Indy and he said that the chance of a failure/spark is a million to one. I don't have a torque wrench to take the riser nut off so I'm kinda stuck. I'm not sure if I should take it to another Indy or even the stealership. What do you guys think? I've read other posts on a search and it seems to be a 50/50 deal on a must have or a don't worry about it?

He's right, but I would put the chances at a lot higher than a million to one.
But the flip side of the coin is that if you ever decide to attach anything to the bars that might need a ground line, LED mirrors, GPS, radio, etc. you'll be needing that wire. If you don't intend to ever attach anything to the bars its not going to be a problem.
