Default make your own baffles

Has anyone made their own baffles?

I have V&H staggered that are really loud even with the silencers. I've ordered some 12" baffles from J&P and some extra packing material. The opeing in these baffles appears smaller than the silencers that are in there now. This gives me extra room for more packing and will probably give me closer to original back pressure. Any thoughts?

Woah there man! Maybe you ought to just try the baffles before you start stuffing extra things in there. How quiet do you reallywant it to be? I seriously doubt you'll need a THIRD baffling device in there.

Yeah, I wasn't real clear. I plan to replace the silencers which are about 8-10" long. the new ones are about 12 inches long and have a little more room to wrap the packing around. The V&H are really loud even with the silencers. The reason I went with these pipes is that the header on the rear pipe is bent forward which moves the heat from my leg. The heat on these 2007's is high and moving the header forward and opening up the pipes a little has helped with the heat. Now, I'm trying to make them a little quieter so I don't wake the dead.
