In live in So. Cal. and more and more I have been hearing about loud pipe tickets. Not to mention that I leave to work at 5am. So I have just installed a pair of Vance& Hines' Quiet Baffles in my Big Shot Staggered pipes. I think I can still get a ticket But I'm still happy with the sound, alot deeper than before. I thought that they would just be wrapped with something, but the whole design of the baffle is different. At idle and going really easy on the throttle there is a huge differance in volume. When I open it up, it's still pretty loud. After some research, seems that I might even have added another horse or two due to more back pressure. The install was not hard. Had to update the values on the Fuelpak and also had a chance to shine up the heat shields
I bought a pair several months ago but still haven't put them in. Can it be done without removing the pipes or is that pretty much a given (I haven't really looked into it)? Also, how difficult was it to get the old baffles out? THANKS!
I left the pipes on, just removed the heat shields. The old baffles come right out (only one screw), new ones on the other hand are another story. The packing makes 'em a little hard to move around.
