Default V&H Straightshots and Quiet Baffles

Sorry if this question has been asked one too many times but I have V&H Straightshots on my Sporty - been about 2 years now - and I am planning on swapping to the quiet baffles. I'd like to do it without enlisting my hubby's help (I am woman hear me roar crap .) Anyway - I hear it can be a bit difficult in getting the old baffles out. Any pointers on how to do this successfully and perhaps impress my hubby with my mechanical abilities at the same time? I do understand reading the directions would be the first step ...

Thanks in advance for all helpful tips.....

CyclChyc, I was un-aware that V&H made quiet baffles for the straight shots. Could you possible have the Big-Shots Long? Sometimes people mix those 2 pipes up. We'll onto your question, I have both the Big Shots Staggard and the Big Shots Long, and put the quiet baffles on. You have to remove the end caps first, then remove the set screw on the regular baffles and yank them out. Screw in the new quiet baffles and do the reverse. The quiet baffles look like what your going to take out but will be wrapped in fiberglass. Once again this is for the Big Shots series of their pipes, not the straight shots which are true duals.

I have the Straightshots HS and everything I've researched says that the quiet baffles (specific part #21869) is an option for them. Boy would that suck if my research proved wrong.......

Removing the heat shields is the hard part. Each one has 3 that you need to loosen until they come apart and you can slide them off from around the pipes. Then take off the heat shields. Then there is one bolt for each baffle on the backs of the pipes. Take it off, then slide them out and put the new ones in. Then put the heat shields back on!

n/m I was thinking sideshots. My bad.
