Hi all, got my first Harley about 2 months ago and got an extra set of baffles with it. I have the Vance and Hines straight shots on an '09 Low Rider and I currently have the quiet baffles in. I want to take them out and put the other baffles in but I'm not quite sure where to start (what screws to loosen, how to get them out). Any advice on changing these would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I don't have those particular pipes, but I think once the heat shield is removed the screws should be apparent.
The should be one screw holding in each baffle. Remove the screw, pull out the baffles, replace them taking care to note where the screw holes are and replace the screws. That's all there is to it. Now putting in the quiet baffles is a different story as you have to wrap the batting in wire or tape before inserting them into the pipes.
BTW, I have the V&H and did not have to remove the heat shields.
i have the full straighshots (not slipons) on my 09 SB - there is one screw under the heatshields near the exhaust outlet that holds the baffles in (will be on the inside/bike side of the pipes). I believe you'll need to remove the heatshields (held by hose clamps) to get to that screw because the shields wrap all the way around the pipes at the outlet and cover the screw
make sure to wipe your pipes down after you're done to remove all fingerprints/grease before firing it up
I do have the slip ons (forgot that in the OP). Not sure if that makes a difference.
i would think that would be even easier - check near the end of the slip ons, tire side (out of view) for one screw on each pipe. Should be as simple as taking that out and removing the current baffles, then put the new ones in.
should be loud as hell too ... my quiet baffles are louder than i'd prefer, but i really like the full SS with one piece heat shields (nice clean look)

On the Slip-ons, just loosen the heat shield clamps and slide the heat shields back a couple inches and you can uncover the screw. You might want to put a little penetrating oil on the screw, you can see them from inside the pipe at the tips. Also, don't over tighten the the heat shield clamps, not only can you strip the clamp band, you can put a dent in the pipe making it hard to remove the baffles. Talk about a thin walled pipe!
