Default New seat install question

Hi guys i just got the Lepara Bare bones for my 07 softail custom, before that it had the original big king queen seat. The seat fits perfect but i need the new seat didn`t come with the hardware to bolt it to the bike. It looks like there is a plastic plug in the fender that needs to be removed and then i need to get a nut and bolt to secure it to the rear fender. Has anyone had any experience with this?

There is a special nut that fits under the fender and a thumbor slotted screw to hold it on with. The dealer should be able to get it for you, might even have one in stock.

Default RE: New seat install question

Hey jm35ny,
The part you're looking for is part no. 59768-97 in the harley parts book and costs $2.50; it's called a "fender seat nut kit". This nut will work with the stock bolt that held the passenger seat.

Real easy install too. Just put some double-sided scotch tape or similar at the end of a long screwdriver or stick, look through the hole in the fender and start feeding the fitting stuck to the end of the stick upward inside the fender until you see the tip protruding through the hole in the fender. Slip on the plastic retainer ring while still holding in place with the stick and voila you're done. Takes less then 1 minute to install ...
Hope this helps.
