Default Brake Pad Life Expectancy?

Hey All,

What's the average lifespan you can expect out of stock brake pads on a Softail?

Thanks,
pan

Default How many miles

Depends on:
What make and model bike do you have?
Do you ride 1 or 2 up
Highway, twistie, or City driving?
Driving Style
What is the manufacturer of the brake pad
and many more factors

Ah, ok... The end is probably near for mine then. I'm at 11,000 miles on the stock pads that came with my Springer Softail Classic. Got a 1,200 mile ride coming up in a few weekends... Maybe after that.

As an aside - I use EBC greens on my Deuce. I found that I got longer life out of the Harley pads. I think I'm going to switch back to the stock pads when I change mine again, and when the pads on the Ultra need changing, I'm going to stay with stock also.

You may wish to take a look at both front & rear pads. It only takes a few min. You are going on a 1.2K mi trip. Take some brake cleaner & take a few squirts. Take a peak. You are near the end of those sinister stock brake pads. You may wish to DIY on my page HERE

I had to replace the rear pads on my Deuce at 18000 miles but the fronts are still at about 60%. Bike is used for city riding and longer rides.

Hey, thanks for that info. Very handy. I actually did go ahead and order new front and rear pads. Better safe than sorry.
