Good day ladies and gentleman. They make so many different types and compositions of brake pads, that it gets confusing trying to decide what to switch to after the OEM's are worn out. My question to you is this....I know there are many of you out there that have been riding for years, and have tried everything under the sun. What have you settled on when it comes to your pad material of choice?? Thanks folks.
Harleys stock for late years is rated HH on the back of the pad. Rating for friction. That is pretty high. I think semi-matalic. Next is ceramic which is really not suited for the street. Gotta get them hot before they work good, good for raceing though.
The parts person told me it meant, "Harley Halter," he guessed. didn't have a clue.
I see where Hawk has pads out now. Good brand for HP auto fro years.
I looked into this a whild ago and seems brake pad manufacturing is like making Wiskey. Inhouse secrete ingreadents
