Default How to loosen rear tank bolt? 08 Rocker

So I am trying to install the 2" lift kit on my 08 Rocker and I can't figure out how to loosen the rear tank bolt. I have taken off the seat and believe I can see the bolt I am trying to get to, but there is no room for a wrench to get to it. Alot of people have done this, but I am obviously missing something here.

Anybody able to tell what how to get it loosened?

Pretty sure it took a boxed end to get mine off. Couldn't get a socket to fit.

I had to use the open-end of the wrench. The nut will slide against the tank ever so slightly but it will turn. Kind of goofy.

So here are a couple of pics w/ the seat off. I am assuming the nut/bolt I want to get to is inside what I would call the top tube. You can see the bottom of the threads hanging down inside that tube. The problem is that there is almost no space between the nut and the tube to get a wrench.

Does the gray piece on top of the tank need to come off to get access to that or am I completely wrong on where the rear bolt is located?

The nut visible on top of the tank only appears to attach the gray piece to the top of the tank.

That is the nut you want to turn. You can get it with an open end wrench.

+1 It's weird but you can get it with the open end wrench. Don't worry, you're not going to scratch that gray power coating.

So are you guys saying it is the nut on top of the gray powder coated piece or inside the top tube?
