Street slammer bars on a Deluxe...thoughts?
I have 14" Carlini Menace Apes on my deluxe. Ive been contemplating putting street slammer bars on it for a while. Im not uncomfortable with the apes, but my right thumb, pointer, and middlefinger go numb after riding a while. Ive never had that happen with any other bars. I sat on a softail at a dealershop today with street slammers and really liked it...I just dont know how it would look on a nostalgia type bike. What do you guys think?

Just my thoughts, but I don't think they would have the nostalgia look that I would be going for to fit the rest of the bike. It's all about comfort though and if you are riding long distances, then I think the more comfortable the better. I only ride about 40 miles at a time so comfort goes out the window on mine. LOL. Honeslty, I feel those particular apes do not have the nostalgia look either. Very clean bike though!

Maybe Street Slammer won't look so much nostalgia but is a very comfortable bar with a clean profile and a great look....and anyway can be considered a classic bar like other dragbars or T-bars. I installed it on my previous Dyna Street Bob and was extremely satisfied with it...maybe even because I'm not such a great fun of apes...

Not sure how it would look but if you like the look and you are more comfortable, i say go for it. For what its worth, my buddy has slammers on his blackline and says his back gets sore from his position so hes moving to apes to stay upright.

I assume you bought the bike with the apes? Since you don't like me that is. It's really hard to find a happy medium between comfort and looks. You have a beautiful bike. I think your bars look good but would look better if they were classic. Like everyone else says the slammers won't be anymore nostalgic than what you have now.
