On my bikes loom I have green, red and black for the tail light and some other wires which must be for indicators.

Red and green to taillight, red should be stop, green tail, grays are turn signals. Gray with brown tape is right, violet tape is left. I guess black is a ground???

I don't see a black wire on my wiring diagram, but this is for a 1991, so hopefully some of these are correct for you.

John
you are correct sir
Wiring is the same in 91 as for 86-90 models
Only turn signal is brown for right
Violet for left

It is cold and dark here now so will be staying by the fire tonite.....will have another go tomorrow and then maybe ask for more advice if possible.

Maybe the green needs the stopswitch to ground it? Is that a factory taillight assembly?

Hi John,
Yes it is a stock factory tail light off a late 90's model so has different colour coded wiring coming from it that I am splicing the wires from my bike into. So I have figured on the late 90's tailight the stop and the takl light are red/yellow and red/white.
