Voltage Regulator, Powdercoat Flaking!!!
I've noticed today while cleaning my bike that the black powder coat on the voltage regulator is flaking, this surely isn't right on a bike thats barely 9 months old and has only done just over 2,000 dry miles
Has anyone else experienced this same problem?
Should this be covered under warranty?
I welcome you opinions before I question the stealer!

+1 - on painting it. Since the location of the regulator makes it a target for sand, stones, rocks, etc, kicked up by the front tire, as well as plenty of bug guts, I'd use an epoxy spray paint which is tougher (harder) than regular spray enamels. You can find epoxy spray paint in rattle cans in most decent hardware stores. It's typically labeled as Appliance Paint or Appliance Epoxy.

Well I have now had a decision from HD and it's a "No it's not covered under warranty as the damage is cosmetic and the regulator is still functioning to specification!"
Despite my very well put arguements (IMHO) I cannot be bothered to persue this any further, so I am going to paint it with some epoxy paint as has been suggested here and elsewhere, and see how well that last's.
Life is just too short for negativity, so I'll fix it myself as always, and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done!
