Crossover Gasket and decel pop
Hey everyone,
I have a 2010 Nightster and put a pair of twin slash v&h slip-on pipes on it last year. I have had to change the crossover port gaskets once already b/c of a leak and pop, and both were alleviated with the quick fix. I noticed that one of them is leaking again after 7 months or so. I decided to replace it, and have a very slight leak. Does anyone know if a slight leak is normal, or are there any tips on how to mount the gaskets and get a perfect seal? Any help is appreciated

Loosen all conections including the head pipes and set new crossover gaskets on the crossover pipe, once all in place, tighten headbolts first then the muffler mounts and then the clamp from the mufflers to the pipe last. finish with the heat shields. I
hung loosely the bottom/front muffler heat shield before the tigtening sequence.

I just installed twin slash cuts on my 2011 iron and let me say... the front bracket has a bend that is too shallow to mount to the crossover. I know this is gonna make very little sense but ill try. My front bracket needed to be bent cause after the first time i put it on, i didnt notice the gasket line up and got smushed. Caused a massive leak and decel pop. So i replaced it, and after about 1hour of trying to line it up, decided that it wouldn't, so i bent the bracket a little and not it fits better, however it still doesn't seat down as deep as it should, but deep enough that it doesn't leak.
Phew, im sure that is pretty hard to follow, but i thought id chime in since i had the same problem.
