Red face Nightster rear lights issue

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a wiring issue I am having.
I took off the stock rear lights from my 2010 Nightster and replaced them with some new Joker Machine LED ones.
When I started, I noticed that coming from the bike, for each signal, there were 3 wires (black, blue and purple). And coming from the new signals were only 2 (black and red). So…I then bought from Joker Machines website the Badlands LED intensifier converter which takes the purple and blue from the bike and turns them into one red wire.
I hooked it all up this way. Right now, I have the running lights working and the turn signals but NOT the brake? Also it seems as if they are really bright so I’m thinking they are stuck with the brake light on?
I hope this makes sense to someone and I would appreciate any advice on how to get all three functions working like did with the stock signals.
Thanks for your time.

try flipping the wires around. have you tried engaging the brakes just to make sure they work?

Ok, I messed with flipping the wires last night and it seems as if I had it hooked up correctly. Is it possible the brake light is stuck on? Im trying to see if there is a sensor or pressure switch messed up?
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this and thanks again for the help!

i had my brake lights stuck on a few weeks back.
all i had to do was take apart the switch housing on your handle bars (right-hand side).
where your brake lever goes into the housing, there is a small rubber nipple switch thing (im no mechanic lol).
a bit of wd40 around this switch and pressed it in and out a few times, reassembled the housing and everything worked.
this might not be why yours are not working but maybe it will help.
this video should give you a more detailed explanation of how to do it

Yup, you broke the nipple off the end of the switch. I'm guessing you didn't put a shim between the brake lever and the control housing before you took it off?

Hey Van Buren / Knight - Yup that was exactly it, I had it apart last night. When I press in on the end of the switch the brake light goes off, so its wired correctly.
Right now I cant seem to get the lever to fit in the housing so that it hits the switch. Im guessing your right van buren and I broke something off the end of the switch that fits the gap i have. Do you know of a way to fix this or do I need to buy a new one?
Thanks again for the help!

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. At first i did something temporary to fix the issue but eventually i got fed up and just picked up a new switch. Forget going to the dealer and spending $60-70. I picked mine up here

http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-BRAKE-...item43c5a56a5c

I just cut and soldered the new switch directly in the housing. Took me all of 10 minutes.
