brake lights acting funny

hey yal i got a 09 nightster and noticed my rear brake lights arent working.. the running lights stay on and if u turn the blinker on it works but as soon as u turn blinker off its like the brake light is always on..

when u turn blinker off it takes about a sec or 2 and the brake light comes on when not pushing the brakes... just seeing if any had this happen before i bring it to the sterlership.. thank u in advanced

It's probably the rear brake light switch. They're notorious. Unplug one lead from the rear switch. If that fixes it, you know it's the switch.

yes it was the rear brake switch.. its fixxed and i am back on the road anyway to keep them from going bad?

total noob here when it comes to this stuff. Having same problem. What switch!??!

My problem started with one of the bulbs going bad. Replaced the bulb, now the brake light doesn't work. Indicators work fine, but brake light doesn't. Need to get back on the road before it gets too cold.
