For the tall guys - this is what I did (6'4''): https://www.hdforums.com/forum/12240066-post16.html
Mirrors have to go more to the outside, that will help most to improve your rear view

I made the extensions out of a large aluminum block (1x4.5x4.5) I cut them out on the band saw. then shaped them on the belt sander and used a dremel with a router bit. Drilled out the center and shaped with the dremel tool. Then polished them on the drill press buffing wheel. As for mounting them under I just don't like the look. As my kids would say I'm old Lol.
To tell you the truth I don't even know why I made these I had already ordered the Kariakin 1444 extensions I'm still waiting for them. But when I saw the Grady extensions I really wanted them. But 100 bucks not for me. Ever seen anybody that has these? I haven't maybe cause there too much money. Heres a link if you want to see them.

I looked for longer stemmed mirrors but settled for the adapters. Thus jumping the gun.
An Ployd4 if you have access to brass that would work as well. I just happened to have this old block of aluminum. I would think 3 1/2" to 4"W X 1 1/2" to 2" T x 3/4" to 1" thick.
If I was redoing them I would make them a 1/4 taller.
I got all the hardware at Ace. Used 3/8 polished spacer on the top side of the mount. Chromed acorn underneath mirror. 2 1/2" Stainless Allen head to mount the whole thing on and a stainless nut on that.
