Annual 2,000+ trip from Lauderdale to Asheville
Good morning everyone. Every year a group of us make a trip from Lauderdale to Asheville, through Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala Skyway, Wheels Through Time, NOC, Tail of the Dragon, etc. This year we are also including Tennessee's Jack Daniel's distillery. Our group is small and we've been riding together for 25 years, with experience ranging from 30 to 40 years. We ride about 90 mph on the highway and scrape floor boards through the twisties. We don't ride in any type of structured formation, but we all ride very well together. Every year we invite new people to join our group. This ride is extremely casual, relaxing and a lot of fun. We don't normally make any reservations and ride more like "Wild Hogs" where we ride until we see someplace cool to stay and then we stop. Just us and the road. This year we had a few regulars cancel because of family or work, so we have some extra room.
Anyone interested in coming with us this year, please reply. We've been doing this trip every year for 10 years so we know everyone and everyplace. We don't get lost and we seldom have any incidents. It's a very fun and safe trip. We are all older guys, but still spirited. One of the guys, 53 years old, makes the trip on an Aprilia Tuono. Nearly 3,000 miles on a sport bike. He's been riding 40+ years.
Look forward to hearing from anyone interested in taking the best motorcycle trip they've ever been on.
This year we plan on leaving on a Wednesday, September 23rd, and coming back on Sunday or Monday. Some stay longer and I might even branch off on the way back and ride to Bourbon Street LA or take the long route through Sanibel/Captiva.

enter your DOB and scroll down to see all of the things todo in the little town where the distillery is.
I think we’ll spend a full day in this town. The ridefrom Bryson City to the distillery is going to be fantastic! One of theroutes goes right through Deal’s Gap.
