Has anyone purchased and installed one yet? If so was it easy and a nice upgrade?

I installed the second one the other day on my SG. The install was easy but you need to splice your license plate light into the wiring for this upgrade or you loose you plate light. Poor planning on Harleys part as both this light and the plate light, plug into the same socket inside the tail light housing. Unless I read the instructions wrong, it's happened before.

 

What upgrade is this??

Well my wife had seen me looking at this upgrade on the HD website the other day and when she went into the city yesterday. She stopped and picked one up for me as a surprise and gave it to me after lunch today (gotta love wives).
Anyways I installed it today and it was very easy, I had a jumper kit that came in mine which hooked right back up to the same plug and no splicing was needed and everything works perfect.

The upgrade that makes the tri-bar light a running light then when the brakes are applied its a brake light.

 

I've been waiting on mine to come in at the dealership, was told they're is a backorder problem so waiting on that. The parts guy had a heck of a time finding it on their puter. The part # on the H/D web site has been changed, atleast that what he said,I tried looking over his shoulder to make sure he was doing it right, will have to wait and see.

 

I notice the part# change also from the website, my box part# 68229-07

 

Definately want that mod!

There is a warning on the HD page that says they don't recommend disconnecting your tail light. Do you lose your tail light with this install?
