Default Fork oil change

I changed my fork oil on my 13 CVO ultra and now I have a clunk in the front when going slow over bumps, checked everything out and nothing is loose. At higher speeds everything seems fine, no clunk.l used SE heavy fork oil and added 10.7 oz. to each fork leg, any ideas or has someone else experienced this?
Thanks

Mine has done it a bit over the 91000 miles , I change the fluids every 20000 miles and ride....it's not the best front suspension system out there and I just ride, the tolerances aren't the greatest. I believe you have the same suspension as my 2007.

Steering head begs. are good, I'm wondering if I should of went with a lighter weight oil. I'm not sure what weight SE heavy is.

Did you rebuild your forks? Did you install the rebound spring on the correct side of the damper tube?

The viscosity choice depends on your weight and how much you want it to dive.

There is some debate over exact weight of SE Heavy. Both Bel-Ray and Spectro say it's 20W on their tech pages.

Oil weights ratings can be confusing and I think Viscosity Index may be more accurate for suspension fluids. You can search to find ratings comparisons.

If you have a clunk, your fork oil may be too heavy. Try Bel-Ray 15W or Spectro 15W (or Spectro Type E) or another equivalent suspension fluid. I prefer not to use HD as it's too much of a guessing game.

Just to eliminate one possible noise-maker on low speed bumps....

If you haven't already done so, try lightly applying the front brake over the same bumps that cause the front-end noise.

Sometimes the caliper/pads/rotor assembly is loose, or has some play that can bang around a bit over bumps.

All the best,

Shane
