Default FP3 questions for 08 FLHT

Got my new FP3 last night and did a little fiddling with it but I do have some questions for those of you who are using one.

I uploaded the map for my Twin Slash rounds and fired it up, lumpy idle. Up and down quite a bit. Riding wasn't great either though I didn't get to put more than 20 or so miles on. When I got back I messed around a bit and noticed that it had the displacement at 103 in the settings when the initial description showed me the correct 96". Could that be what's causing it to run bad? Under 2k is pretty garbage with lots of pop and bang.

The other question I have is the live sensor data...it has one for engine temp. What temp is this actually? Where is the sensor? I have an autometer oil temp gauge in the pan but the temp that the PCM was displaying was much higher.

One last one, does my bike support EITMS? I've read it in the manual and how to turn it on/off but it never seemed to do anything when I tried to activate it. I see the FP3 gives me that option, do I actually have it?

yes you have eitms, it will only activate at idle - no throttle input.
with the wheels turning less than 3 mph, when the temps reach a certain level ( i forget the exact)

In live in PHX and it rarely comes on..so rare that I am surprised when it does

temp sensor in the rear head.

try V&H for setttings help.

I am trying an older FP LED- I am on settings revision #7 from them and it's not great.
I will probably go back to XIEDS which were fine for 5 years.

the first 5 setting groups given were near inoperable...

your device is more complex and should work better than what I have

Learn something everyday...never knew there was a temp sensor in the head. The defaults that were set in the FP3 for EITMS was 302F on and 298F off. It's user customizable.

Another thing I'm wondering about is the injector size. Having a hard time finding exactly what the stock injectors are to compare the map settings. I guess when I get home I'll get the numbers from what I have and search it out.

Hopefully I can do a little more fiddling tonight and see improvement.

i suggest you take the time to call V&H when you have the unit in front of you for more exact set up ...injectors etc.

on my older unit, many of the pull down menu options online are dead ends or don;t make sense
