Default Replacing a heat shield clamp

I stripped one of the heat shield clamps on my V&H Dresser Duals. Do I have to remove the heat shield to replace the clamp? Or can I just loosen the remaining clamps and install a new clamp?

It's basically a hose clamp, remove it and put a new one in it's place.

That is unless you have something else I am not aware of.

PS. if you loosen them all, you will have to re-align the entire shield and have the potential for rattles.

Thanks Coastal. I think I'm going to run with the three that are remaining. If I have to remove the the heat shield, I might as well wait till I put it up for the winter.

Ive stripped them out a few times. no. you dont have to remove heat shield but sometimes it makes it easier. not a big deal. plus. you can check the torque on your header bolts with the shield off

Come on man it's just a hose clamp. Get a new clamp and fix it.
