Angry ignition switch removal 05 EG

has anyone ever not been able to get the ignition switch of despite all attempts? i have a manual and also refered to the link on here with the 09 sg. I have had 4 guys try to get this switch off without damaging it.has anyone ever ran into a faulty switch that wont come off?
lock forks, press button on btm left of switch while depressing the key and turning it counter clockwise about 60 degrees. switch pops up about an 3/16 ths of an inch and then stops?
switch works fine. trying to off that part of the dash to refill the forks.

it is different for our bikes, you have to turn it to ACC to get it out, push the button under the switch, then turn the key past lock , and lift, then get a screw driver, and turn it to off, just did this 2days ago, doing apes.

+1 for my 05 EGC. My manual concurs. Put switch in ACC position for an 05 not LOCK position. I have done this numerous times. If I'm going to have it out for a long time, I disconnect the battery and just leave it in ACC position.

I don't know I have not checked my manual , and my 03 switch has come out that way from the start, give it a try, and let me know if it works.
