You need to remove the key switch.
Best advice i can give you is,
Buy a manual!
It's worth every penny, even if you only use it this once.

to remove the key switch is a very aggrivating operation the first couple times you do it...then you will eventually figure it out and it comes off easily.
In a nutshell
[ol][*]get a small flat tip screwdriver...a real smal one[*]feel with you fingers the underside of the actual switch. This is the part that turns from OFF > IGNITION > ACCESS.[*]At about the 7:00 position on the underside you will feel a small 'button'. Remember where that is.[*]Turn the switch to the ACCESS position[*]Take the screwdriver and push the button upwards as if you are trying to push it into the actual switch. You will feel it 'give' a bit.[*]At the same time Insert your key and turn it counter-clockwise (opposite from the LOCK position)[*]The switch will pull out of the housing.[*]To insert the switch just reverse the process.[/ol]The button releases the tension on the latching mechanism. Turning the key in the opposite direction releases the locking mechanism that holds the switch to the housing. Putting the switch in the ACCESS position makes the keyway line up correctly. It should complicated, but it really isnt. It tooke me 45 minutes or so to figure this out the 1st time i tried it...thats after reading the manual. Now i can remove my swith in 5 seconds.

Once the switch is removed, there is a nut. Pay attention to how tight the nut is when you remove it.
I find snug is good when reinstalling , as you will be using a fairly large wrench.
Also, as you remove stuff, turn it upside down on the bench and put the pieces back on the upside down switch to help with the order when assembling.
