Hi
My bike that I purchased didnt come with the keys to the Ign switch. No idea what the story is, but I would like to get the ign key made up. How do I remove the switch so I can take it into a locksmith to get keyed?
dude, definitly buy the factory manual. You'll be going nuts trying to work on that bike without it.
You can use a very small bladed screw driver to push the little tab in under the chrom swithchousing to remove the top part of the housing and bring that to a locksmith and they will make you a key.
New switches at hd are 100.00,plus 22.00 to get them keyed to match your key. Good luck with taking that switch apart. Springs and bearings and parts...Oh my...it can be done though. A new switch from an indy, about 40.00 with 2 keys.
