06 police RK. i know that the wiring is different with all the switches for the beacons, PA system and all. if i bought a set of apes pre-wired would it be a hassle or would it be almost plug and play and just leave the non used wires alone ? thanks

 

probably pretty close to plug and play- you might simplify matters by swapping to civilian controls--- unless you use the pursuit mode ice racing on Dow's Lake.

you should get the factory manual with wiring diagrams to save problems- read the 2 or 3 threads a week in which handlebar swaps turn into non-op bikes, so you can avoid the pitfalls

thanks.. i seen a few "kits" with controls on the bars already. just dont want to give myself too much of a head ache. im not a wiring pro. i though about using the extra switches for rocket launchers and flame throwers. jk. but maybe some extra lights or something.
and mike? what you know about Dow's lake lol?

We used to go the races in the 60's and 70's- cars and bikes racing on the ice.

stuff like that and Steve McQueen make for a future rider.
