Default My Inner Fairing Install Question

Got my factory painted inner fairing today (scarlet red). Doing the install and it is going pretty good but I do have a question.

After installing the speedo and tach I got about a 1/8 " gap between gauge and the fairing (see pic) and they move. The mounting bracket is in the notches, and I torqued to book spec. The other gauges fit flush.

Question: Would putting a bead of clear silicone to create a seal around the inner rings be advisable?

By the way this thing is going to look nice!

Thanks,

Duck

You might wanna try again. They shouldn't move.

Feel around on your old fairing. I bet you'll find the two rubber gaskets that go between the speedo, tach and the fairing. Ask me how I know :-)

There's a rubber seal under each gauge on the front. The should seal out any water from getting through.

And no, the gauges should not move....

Yeah, you're missing the rubber gaskets that are supposed to be behind the gauge on the side of the fairing facing the rider. I found out the same way. Lucky for me the painter removed them and placed them in a plastic bag along with other hidden parts I missed. Check your old fairing.

That was it! The rubber seals were still in the old fairing. Thanks to all!
