Got my factory painted inner fairing today (scarlet red). Doing the install and it is going pretty good but I do have a question.
After installing the speedo and tach I got about a 1/8 " gap between gauge and the fairing (see pic) and they move. The mounting bracket is in the notches, and I torqued to book spec. The other gauges fit flush.
Question: Would putting a bead of clear silicone to create a seal around the inner rings be advisable?
Yeah, you're missing the rubber gaskets that are supposed to be behind the gauge on the side of the fairing facing the rider. I found out the same way. Lucky for me the painter removed them and placed them in a plastic bag along with other hidden parts I missed. Check your old fairing.
