Default Decel pop on stage 1, just live with it for now ?

I have a 2004 RK, it has a stock 88" with only stage 1 download, air cleaner and slip ons, all done by previous owner and verified with Dealer. I have a deceleration pop from time to time, sometimes it is just a little bit where you hear it just in the mufflers and which once in a while it pops pretty good. I have checked and tightened all the conections which made a signficant difference in the amount and volume of the popping and am fairly certain there are no exhaust leaks. I did the hillbilly exhaust check by holding folded rags over the exhaust and it stalled the bike and I did not hear and hissing of escaping exhaust. I am thinking that due to the flange bolts at the head being pretty loose it may have compromised the gasket and should replace them but other than that and purchasing some tuner or another is there anything I might be missing? In the future I am planing on Thundermax or similar type of tuner.

Did you check for intake leaks as well? A tuner will clear it up.

Not sure if you have a carb on it but you need to get more fuel either by turning the mixture screw 1/4 turn (richer) at a time till it's gone, or get into your tuner map and give it 5% more fuel at the 750-1250RPM/0% throttle table.

Had the same issue and cured 99% of it with a tuner and doing how tucci said. Every now and again I get a small pop. Not enough to where I can put my finger exactly on where its happening at. The major popping drove me nuts, I dont worry about the small occasional pop though.

If it's minor, and not actually backfiring, I wouldn't worry about it. Mine does it more when the weather is really hot, like yesterday and today (103-105 degrees).

I never even considered intake leaks, I will check for them as well. My bike has EFI so a tuner will be needed eventually. Funds are real tight so I am planning any upgrades with future hoped for mods in mind. That is why the Thundermax type of tuner looks good to me,it can "learn", no dyno time needed. I know some burbling on decel is normal but it is the bacfire pops that happen time to time that bother me. Thanks for the input so far forum brothers !
