Default Advise on Engine powder coating (color)

Need a little help!!! I finally had my engine removed and torn apart . Now I am having the cylinders & heads done with the Diamond cut edges, I need to redo the powder coat on the cases and the heads as well as the new cylinders because they don’t match. My bike is two-tone Blackcherry & Pewter should I do them in Black wrinkle, Gloss black or Blackcherry. Anyone with pictures or good ideas please help.

Thanks Stan

Personally I like the monochromatic look. If I had the funds. I'd do it. Saw a custom build where all the black engine parts were powder coated the same color as the tins and it really popped.

you're right there get it done at sumax!!! best place in the country. all they do is motorcycle stuff. the cases get bolts ad washers put thru the holes before, so when you assemble there is no powder coat behind the washer to crack, peel and mess up the torque setting, and the finish is top notch. if you do the cases, do the trans as well, will look funny two different colors. color is up to you, sumax has a zillion colors, and can come close to matching paint/frame colors, accent colors, what ever!! you know to powdercoat first and then diamond cut, then fit pistons, if you bore or go .005 oversize (or whatever size) the heat of powder coating will distort the cylinder bore slightly. so fit pistons last, good luck enjoy, it looks real good when done.

ps they also are very careful about not getting any powder on any sealing surface. I didn't have to clean any spots of coating it was really nice, much better than a whole lot of shops have done. they are a little more expensive, but well worth it. I shipped across the country, thats how much better they are
