Hard to run a wire under the tank?
I've got a '12 RKC. I need to run a GPS power cable under the tank; from under the seat to the neck. Once I remove the tank bolts and lift the tank slightly, is there anything under there preventing me from fishing the wire through? I'm trying to avoid any surprises once I start this project.
Thanks for the help!!

There is a wire raceway on the top of the backbone of the frame. You have to remove the tank to open it. It's the cleanest, most protected way to run wires under the tank. The tube for the gas overfill and any comm wires are the only things you need to watch for. The main fuel line is a quick disconnect and the bikes newer than 07? I think do not have a fuel crossover line.
I see you have a Road King. Im not sure what there is to deal with as I have a Electraglide.
But 4 bolts and the disconnect the fuel line and maybe a couple of connectors for the ignition and its off!

With the quick disconnect on the fuel line it's a breeze to get the tank off...I just had mine off to run power wires for an amp. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube. Take off the tank dash. (unplug the wiring by the filler hole. Put a towel on the rear fender to lay the dash on.) pull down on the spring loaded fuel line under the left side of the fuel tank to disconnect. 2 bolts on the front of the tank and 2 bolts on the rear. Lift of the tank and set it on the side. I took the cover off of the wiring tray and ran the power wires to the battery in the tray. Button everything back up and you're good to go! Not hard at all......
