'11 FLHTP add cruise control?
Hi everyone. I am currently riding a 2011 Streetbob but I am considering trading it in on a 2011 Police Street Glide FLHTP. The salesman tells me however that cruise control can not be added because it has a different wiring harness in it. I was wondering how much truth there is to that statement. As of now it's making me hesitent to move forward with buying it.

I seem to recall someone else saying the same thing. But this site may help. http://cruisemount.com/glides.html

You could always use the friction thingy on the throttle.

I love my Dyna but the thought of a more comfortable bike when 2up, saddlebags, cruise and a radio made this bike appealing but with no radio, no cruise and a big cost to add idk if it's worth it anymore.

Not so with the 08+ FLHP and FLHTP TBW bikes. All you need is the harness and switches and to have the Cruise enabled in your ECM by the dealer. Everything is there on the TBW bikes already except for the wires and the switches. Don't need the $700 kit. If you keep the police switches, you are looking at $375. See the bottom of this page:

For police-bike specific info, tips, and advice, check out the Retired Police Bike forum. It is much smaller than this forum, but everyone over there has a police bike and they are very helpful.
