Default lowering blocks?

Has anyone had any trouble from lowering a Touring model? I have a 2007 Roadglide.

FYI: Shotgun Shocks now has shocks for touring bikes

I intend to get these asap. Just can't seem to get the time to get to their shop for install.
Will come back and share one day after I do.

you need to check clearance of the 07 rg rear wheel & fender. there have been reports that a wiring bundle inside the fender can get damaged when lowered.

"reports"...

it is a real possibility, the wiring runs inside the fender
a tire which contacts the fender may also get grooved by hardware, such as protruding shock hardware or the seat bolt, some riders have managed to heat up the fender ( through contact) and damage the paint.

lowering a bike reduces cornering clearance, so the rider has to check and be aware of the new limitations.

watch for dragging jiffy stand on left turns, and the belt tension may need to be adjusted as well.

for most an inch drop is no problem, more than that can be

the angle of the shock may be changed, and may not fit inside the cut out of the saddlebag, if so the bag may be spaced away from the bike...something to look at before you ride

Get the LA Chopper lowering blocks well made no way will they break or look like they will break like the cheap ones, and they drop you straight down, and do not put shocks in an angle..

Quality lowering blocks will not break. As mentioned, stay with 1 inch blocks to avoid contact issues. I have 1 inch Pingle blocks. Absolutely rock solid, quality block.

Yes, I have seen a few of the welded type stretch and break.

I have also seen on older model Touring (2001 and earlier) the swingarms have troubles with them.

The one piece billet ones, on 2002 and later, never seen an issue.

Check em out HERE

You site says it won't work with CVO Street Glide.

Will they work on the 14 Street Glide Special (with the same shocks as the CVO)

It will not work with the 2014 street glide special due to the fact that it uses the same shocks as the CVO. Be sure to let us know if you need anything.
