Default How I tell if I'm an old fart

Okay when I was young, I thought anyone who rode a bagger was an old fart. The same could be said for anyone who wore heated gear.

About 14 years ago I started riding baggers. And rethought my position. I modified it to be anyone riding a trike or wearing heated gear was an old fart.

December 6, 2014 i purchased the "Fat Bottom Girl" and once again rethought my position to anyone wearing heated gear was an old fart.

Today I did my first 100+ mile ride with a gerbing jacket liner and gerbing gloves ... I gotta say ... when I left at 8am it was 35 degrees ... had the gear on medium heat ... little later went to low .... but all along, i was toasty.

Lesson Learned: Should of done both the trike and the heated gear years ago ... I'm totally loving both.

Conclusion: It's official .. I'm an old fart!!!

Funny. I've been in the heated gear club for about 5 years. I bought a 2011 TG and rode it for a year and a half and really enjoyed it. Decided to get a 2013 Roadglide; rode that for a year and a half. Hmmm maybe I'm seeing a trend. I got the chance to buy a used 2013 TG back in Oct; the Roadglide went and I'm back on the TG. Guess that makes me a member of the old fart club too. Think I'm going to keep the TG this time.

Default Yea

I agree I enjoy the trike way more than I thought I would.
It is fun and safer and less worries.
I have heated gear but haven't wired the trike for it yet.
But we're still snowing here heated gear is for March or April
I'm still trying to decide on the old fart status yet or not !

I went from 1962 until 2008 without bags, windshield, tour-packs, or "extra essential storage. My all time favorite was my '03 Dyna WG. Went from the 08 Ultra to the '09 Tri-glide (in 2011) Back to "no frills" riding in 2015 with the Freewheeler. About the electric gear, wearing a Volt battery powered heated jacket. I am old and damn proud of it! My bones just creak more now that I'm 70.

It's not being an "Old Fart" it's now being a "Smart Old Fart"
Heated gear is the best accessory I've ever bought...Gerbins Rocks!

As for the motorcycles, yeah...thought the same.electric starter was for wussies...shocks? don't need no stinking shocks!
Oh how we learn after the years come along...

Hacker, my last non-electric start bike was a 1965 Honda 250 Scrambler, looked just like your picture. First thing to go was that horrible muffler. I had mine 2 weeks before we took it apart and painted it BLACK Oh, the good old days.
