The “One Last Ride’ Campaign for 101-Year-Old Veteran is Touching

If there’s one thing that should never change in this country regardless of political climates or changing trends, is the respect and appreciation for our war veterans, such as Ray Weser.

Ray Weser is a veteran from the State of Arizona, and a whole-hearted Harley-Davidson fanatic. In fact, Weser says that he first fell in love with Harleys as a young teen when he happened to work on one in someone’s garage.

“The dripping oil, the smoke coming out of everywhere, and I fell in love with motorcycle right there!” Weser said. He also mentioned that his passion took him as far as applying to work for the famed motorcycle manufacturer, and eventually being a Harley-Davidson employee for an incredible 24 years!

Ever since he got started as a young boy, Weser never stopped riding his motorcycle, at least until age got in the way, as he’s about to be 102-years-old in December. Because of that, the kind folks at the Grand Canyon Harley-Davidson, and the members of the VFW rallied together to offer Weser one last Harley ride on a campaign called, “One Last Ride.”

Over 50 riders took their bikes to the streets and joined Weser, who rode in the back of a brand new Harley-Davidson Tri Glide. “It was just a natural for us to come out and put him on the back of a bike and take him out for a ride,” said Logan Roberts, general manager of the dealership.

Friends and family of Ray Weser were there to witness that touching scene, and they were all overjoyed and extremely proud of him and thankful for the community support.

I’m glad to see acts of kindness like this one happen to our men and women in uniform!
