I'm not going to watch 21 minutes of some guy riding a Honda Goldwing while jabbering about how much better it is than a Harley. Skimmed it. Maybe OP should post the video on some Honda Goldwing site.

Hi painey.

I was riding a 1976 Honda Goldwing K1 and had an accident with the motorcycle.
I wouldn't compare the Goldwing to my later 1979 HD FLH-80 Classic; there were worlds of difference between those two motorcycles...

The Honda was about getting on and riding, the later Harley was about "loving" and also riding, that was a small difference.
It might sound strange, but the Harley was always the ultimate goal. The "wet" childhood and teenage dream, the ultimate objective.
The Goldwing was somewhere in between, not a good choice, just a cheap stopgap solution.

Mike

Peaple are different. I totaly understand what somebodys choice is. Around here are people who rides al sorts of bikes. There are some which can't immagine riding any other bike than supersports and those who can't immagine riding nothing else than enduros and those who put on top of their windshield anotrher small piece of windshield and so on... in the end most of them (specialy those with super comfort bikes and 100% wind protection) are more tierd than me, which I made 700km+ (around 440miles)of twisty EU roads in 12+ hours multiple times on my 86 Sportster without any wind protection with jet helmet and Ray Ban Aviators😁. Most of them don't even belive me...
What I was realy trying to say is that not all of us needs top end comfort for riding🤷🏼‍♂️

Hi CoolBreeze3646,

I remember our friend Wolfgang's tuned Goldwing, which could reach speeds of around 230 km/h on the German Autobahn; I rode this monster myself, only once.
A wobbly monster, but extremely fast for its time; the Goldwing engine made it possible.Mmonstrous ride, very unpleasant, not comparable to a fast Norton, a Laverda, or a fast Ducati...

But back then, these modifications existed that turned touring motorcycles into extremely dangerous racers, and not just from one company...

If you’re a menopause soccer mom you’ll choose the mini van over the Corvette every time.

LOL I was a Harley rider with over 100,000 miles experience who got disillusioned with the whole HD thing.

I tried to be fair in covering the major points between the brands and my take on the two bikes, I guess some people got their head in the sand and dont like criticism, as I said I WAS the biggest HD fanboy but things changed.
