N.C. Harley Shop to Host Charity Ride
Asheboro’s Cox’s Harley-Davidson Will Be Leading Motorcycle Charity Event for North Carolina Flood Victims on March 25
Last October 8, Hurricane Matthew’s torrential rain swept across North Carolina, bringing tremendous flooding that took 28 lives and left more than $1.6 billion in damages. In Robeson County, Lumberton is one of those areas affected, leaving many residents without a place to live.

“It’s still not dried up down there,” Miller told The Asheboro, North Carolina, Courier Tribune. “These people have got nothing. They got wiped out of everything. It’s worse than what people think. We’ve got to do something to help.”
Miller contacted Cox’s Harley-Davidson in Asheboro and asked if they would join him in collecting items needed for the residents of Lumberton. With a projected two-year recovery time, support for the community will be needed for months to come.
A 53-foot trailer is available to be filled with donations. Cox’s Harley-Davidson’s marketing manager, Keegan Wright, says that any and all donations of non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, clothing, paper products, toiletries and water are still needed. Lumber and related building supplies, furniture and household items are also needed. All donations may be dropped off at Cox’s Harley-Davidson during business hours.
In addition, organizers are inviting Harley riders to partake in a fundraising charity ride on March 25, as the trailer is escorted from Cox’s Harley-Davidson in Asheboro to the city of Lumberton. Proceeds from the ride are going to flood victims. For more information, visit Cox’s Harley-Davidson online and check out its events calendar.
