Custom Dragster Freewheeler Looks Ready To Tear It Up
Two-tone Freewheeler is a drag racer with Screamin’ Eagle parts, custom paint and LED lights all the way around.
The Harley-Davidson Freewheeler looks more like a hot rod than its larger brother, the Tri Glide. With stripped back styling and a sportier posture, the Freewheeler is an interesting prospect for a custom build. Canada’s Carrier Harley-Davidson customized the three-wheeler to be a muscle trike ready to tear up the quarter mile.
AutoMotoTube captured the custom build with an unfortunately scored walkaround, drawing attention to the fine little details. At first glance, Carrier’s custom eagle on the gas tank seems not unlike the tattoo anniversary schemes. In addition to the build’s custom tattoo and stripes, Carrier adorned the trike’s rear end with a full size Screamin’ Eagle Performance logo. That custom paint is complimented by black cast wheels and dual disc brakes. Next, you might notice the premium Harley-Davidson grips, trim, and floor boards. Finally, the builders replaced all lights with custom LED’s.
Carrier’s Drag Trike is as powerful as it is pretty
Carrier Harley-Davidson started by building big power out of the solid Milwaukee Eight (M8) motor. First, they chose a stage III application for the 107 cubic inch engine. The Stage III kit bumped the displacement of the M8 up to 114 cubic inches. In addition to the big bore kit, the Stage III kit included a 498 camshaft upgrade for the powerplant. Next, the folks at Carrier opted for a Pro Street Tuner, coupled with a Screamin’ Eagle Heavy Breather air cleaner. Finally, the builders added a set of Screamin’ Eagle Street Cannons for the exhaust option.
After all that tinkering, Carrier Harley-Davidson managed to put out a trike making 111 horsepower at the wheels. While trikes may be considered by some to be “old-man” bikes, the Carrier Freewheeler challenges that stigma. This 2017 Freewheeler is an interesting little street rod set apart from the pack.
