Harley-Davidson Races to Consecutive NHRA Win in Chicago
Harley-Davidson‘s Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines rider, Andrew Hines, charged to a final-round Pro Stock Motorcycle win at the K&N Filters Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway in the Chicago suburb of Joliet, Illinois.
Not only that, but his teammate, Ed Krawiec scored an additional three victories, which tallies a total of five of six Pro Stock Motorcycle finals on the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
Considering Hines qualified eight during Sunday’s eliminations with a 6.881 second run, it’s certainly quite the accomplishment for him and his mechanics to have come such a long way forward on race day.
“I was hunting around for a good tune-up in qualifying, and after that first round on Sunday I knew my V-Rod would be the bike to beat in eliminations,” said Hines, the defending 2015 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion. “Low ET for the race and a new track record is a great way to start the day, and that may have been my best run of the season so far. From there it was just a matter of making straight, consistent runs down the track.”
This year has been nothing short of a successful sweep for the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines racing team, and they’ll soon be back in action July 22 through the 24th at the 37th annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Colorado.
Good luck, H-D!
